Residents Suspected, Salawat's Chanting Makes The Sound Of The Iron Cut Saw Sound Samar

JAKARTA - The escape of 16 detainees from the Tanah Abang Metro Police cell is thought to have been planned for a long time. The reason is, residents around the Sector Police admitted that they often heard prisoners reading salawat chants from inside the detention cell.

Wara suspected that the chant was to trick the guard officers when they carried out the iron-trellis payroll process. So the police didn't hear the sound of iron cutting while they were in action.

"In my opinion, it is impossible for them to cut into bars in a day. Usually they often pray every day. Now, their voices are loud so they are not heard cutting prison bars," said the source, Monday, February 19.

Residents also said that prisoners in the cells should not sing. They are only allowed to pray. Residents suspect, maybe they used that opportunity to cut the bars.

"If you speak loudly, you can only pray. But if you sing, it's not allowed," he said.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Susatyo Purnomo Condro said two prisoners from 16 people who escaped from prison cells were arrested.

"Currently, there are still 14 other detainees who escaped from the Tanah Abang Metro Police detention cell room," said Kombes Susatyo when confirmed, Monday, February 19.
