Work Accident Case At Jambi Oil And Gas Company Meets Lightpoint, Police Name One Suspect

JAMBI - Investigators from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrisus) of the Jambi Regional Police have named one person as a suspect in a work accident at a oil and gas company in Jambi.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jambi Police, Kombes Mulia Prianto, in Jambi, confirmed that one person was named a suspect in a working accident at PetroChina International Jabung Ltd.

"Yes, that's right. One person has been named a suspect. For further information, it will be informed again," said Grand Commissioner Mulia Prianto, ANTARA, Sunday, February 18.

A work accident at PetroChina Internasional Jabung, Ltd in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi, occurred on December 18, 2022, in the working area of an oil and gas company in Betara District, West Tanjung Jabung. In that incident, eight workers were injured and two of them died.

Cooperation Contract Contractor (KKKS) PetroChina International Jabung Ltd after this incident admitted that the company had coordinated with various stakeholders in conducting investigations related to the incident that occurred in the WB-D7 well area in Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, Jambi Province.

PetroChina received the presence of external parties from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas (Ditjen Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the police forensic laboratory center (puslabfor) and the Manpower Office of West Tanjung Jabung Regency and Jambi Province.

In investigating this case, the Jambi Police also asked for information from oil and gas experts from Jakarta to handle the work accident case.
