KPU Chairman Concerning Misinput In Sirekap: No Sound Result Manipulation Intention
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari emphasized that his party has no intention of manipulating the results of the vote in the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).
This is in response to the many findings of incorrect input data on the Sirekap reading conversion system from the photo results of the C1 form polling place (TPS) which led to allegations of inflating the votes of the 2024 presidential election.
"There is no intention or action of the KPU and the ranks of election organizers to manipulate the results of vote acquisition per polling station as a result of uploading the Form C of the TPS results in Sirekap," said Hasyim in his statement, quoted on Friday, February 16.
Hasyim admitted that the data input error in Sirekap was out of sync with the vote acquisition rate at the TPS. However, Hasyim emphasized that this did not happen because of a typo.
Hasyim realized that the error in reading the Form C results by the system in Sirekap resulted in a misconversion of the vote count results.
"The KPU realizes that there is an error in the vote acquisition which is the conversion of the results of the reading of the TPS Form C photo," said Hasyim.
In the event that there is an error in the conversion of the vote count results, continued Hasyim, what is used as a reference in Sirekap is the upload of form C results to determine which data is correct.
"The data on vote results that are incorrectly converted are monitored by the system and corrections will be made referring to the form C results uploaded in Sirekap. Regarding these errors, the KPU apologizes and corrections will be made," he continued.
