Anticipating Mass Deployment, Bawaslu Installs CCTV At The Kalibata City South Jakarta TPS Logistics Warehouse
JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of South Jakarta (Jaksel) has installed surveillance cameras or CCTV in the logistics warehouse of polling stations (TPS) in Kalibata City. This step is to anticipate mass mobilization and facilitate supervision.
"In Kalibata City, we need to install CCTV for access to the warehouse," said Head of South Jakarta Bawaslu Atiq Amalia in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 13, as reported by Antara.
According to him, all 13 polling stations in Kalibata City and only one storage warehouse location, for that it is necessary to have close supervision from the South Jakarta Bawaslu, so it was decided to install CCTV.
He explained that the installation of CCTV also aims to anticipate the mobilization of the masses so that it is feared that it will disrupt the voting process.
Atiq stated that the Kalibata City TPS was one of the prone to riots because every election there was a commotion between residents and officers.
"What CCTV installed is access to TPS. Access only comes in and out. So, we know if there is mass mobilization and so on or unwanted things, we know what time it is and who it is," he said.

Atiq explained that Kalibata City in Pancoran District does require special attention so there is a need for anticipation.
For this reason, his party reviewed the location before and during the voting day.
Apart from Kalibata City, other polling stations prone to commotion are in the House of Office Complex for Members of the DPR RI with the potential for similar cases.
"How many points do there are, such as in Kalibata City and here (House of Office of Members of the DPR) there are also. Here is also the case, they do not register, only use an ID card. So, they also force to vote," said Atiq.
