How The Regent Of Dico Accommodates Creativity And Smartness Of The Nation's Children Through The Kendal Library Is Appreciated By The Public
Education Observer Doni Koesoema appreciates the efforts of Kendal Regent Dico Ganinduto in improving the literacy culture of the people in his area. This is proven by providing spaces for literacy development, one of which is establishing the most magnificent Regional Library (Perpusda) in Indonesia with more than 40 thousand collections of books.
"The efforts of the Regent of Dico to improve the quality and service of libraries in his area are policies that should be appreciated. Because they have contributed to creating the center of civilization and literacy facilities of the Kendal community. So far, in various kinds of research, access to quality books, access to reading books is very lacking, even though books are world windows that can empower them," Doni said in his statement, quoted on Tuesday, February 13.
Not only that, equipped with a number of facilities to support the creativity of the local community, the Kendal Regional Library managed to break the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) as the largest library building with 4,060 square meters.
Then, there is also a reference reading room,EACH room, meeting room, and a visual audio room and disability-friendly. There is also a co-working space that can be a creative space for the younger generation in Kendal Regency.
So according to him, the existence of libraries with more adequate facilities can make people's creativity, especially the younger generation, grow and develop.
"Because the library is actually almost the same function as schools. People who are not active in anything but go to libraries reading books that are useful for him, he will benefit from books that are read and that will improve individual quality itself," he said.
He also considered that the program built by the Regent of Dico Ganinduto had gone well and could be an example for leaders in other regions.
"So I think this is a very good program because it participates in educating the nation's children. I think this program should be imitated, because we hope that in every district or city there will be a representative library," said Doni.

Because according to him, so far there have been libraries in the regions, but they are not taken care of, not even any programs are running.
"There is no activity involving young people to become libraries, it's like a warehouse. Now, in Kendal, it seems that there is a co-working space, then a podcast place that may be free for the public, people just need to order so that they can be creative there, it can bring up the new economy in society," he continued.
Doni said that with these several facilities, it could be used by the younger generation who want to deepen their knowledge and seek skills.
"The books vary, there are many developments, so they just have to choose according to their talents, then the book will be a reference for them to study," he said.
