Stellantis Will Follow Other Manufacturers Adopt Tesla's NACS System Starting 2025
JAKARTA - Stellantis, a multinational automotive company, will announce Tesla's adoption of charging, namely the North American Charging Station (NACS) for several Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) models in North America.
Reporting from InsideEVs, Tuesday, February 13, the company will begin this adoption in 2025 and then continue for the 2026 model. During this transition period, the manufacturer will provide an adapter for the output EV before 2025 equipped with the CCS1 port.
Currently, the company has pure electric vehicles to launch this year, consisting of Fiat 500e, Jeep Wagoneer S, and Jeep Recon. It also says Tesla's charging is a solution to expand electric vehicles in North America, namely in the US and Canada.
However, there has been no official agreement between the two parties, particularly regarding access to the Supercharging network. The company's spokesperson said that it would see all options to provide convenience for electric vehicle users.
"We will continue to look at all options that make charging simpler and more convenient for our customers," said a spokeswoman for Stellantis.
