Emma Raducanu Tumbang Di Babak Pertama Qatar Open 2024
JAKARTA Tennis England, Emma Raducanu, was immediately stopped in the first round of the Qatar Open 2024 after losing against Ukrainian tennis player Anhelina Kalinina.
Raducanu performed well below his best performance in the first set. He made 15 mistakes himself, while his opponent only made two mistakes himself.
The 21-year-old then saved two match points in the second set which went much more competitive. However, Kalinina got up to win with a score of 6-0 and 7-6 (8-6).
"I struggled with everything, (starting from) service, restoring service, foreplay, backhand," Raducanu said after the match as quoted by BBC Sport.
Raducanu had time to get a set point at 6-5 through his service at the second breaker set. However, Kalinina managed to save him and won the next two points to ensure victory.

Raducanu, who won the US Open 2021, is currently in the early stages of a comeback after missing most of the tournaments throughout 2023. He was injured and had to undergo surgery on both his wrist and left leg.
He won one match at Auckland Classic or ASB Classic during this year's comeback. Then, he appeared in Australia Open 2024.
In his first Grand Slam tournament after injury, he reached the second round. Finally, Raducanu beat world number 36 Marie Bouzkova, in Abu Dhabi last week.
However, the victory was followed by a crushing defeat to the second seed, Ons Jabeur. He then got a wildcard at the Qatar Open 2024 this week, but had to be eliminated early.
Meanwhile, Anhelina Kalinina will face eighth seed Jelena Ostappenko, in the next round.
