JAKARTA - Talking about freedom of expression in cyberspace is protected by law. However, in expressing freedom of expression, one must understand corridors or restrictions based on norms.

Therefore, in expressing opinions and comments, everyone must avoid despicable elements that can harm others. Not only that, in social media, please review information that will be shared to the public, such as status, photos or videos.

The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) discussed how to maintain norms and ethics in cyberspace in NGOBRAS or Chat with Legislators with the theme "The Ethics of Opinion on Social Media" on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

"We already have to understand what digital literacy is called. How the machine works. How can we read and use big code information, big data," said Sri Rahmi.

Therefore, in an era full of disruption, maintaining ethics in cyberspace is as good as maintaining ethics in the real world. Ethics exists when humans can risk that a good act or bad.

On the same occasion, Visual Designer Entrepreneur Aditya Iswandi said that although the opinion on social media is everyone's right, it is still necessary to cross-check information that stops by on social media, so as not to get carried away by his atmosphere that dragged him into disgraceful acts.

Therefore, it is necessary to take appropriate steps in responding to information, such as checking the truth of information by not being easily influenced by provocative titles, as well as observing and reviewing the photos or videos we receive.

"Not only that, but avoiding sharing personal information on social media is also an ethics that should be maintained, because it has the potential to cause danger," concluded Aditya.
