KPK Warns Officials Not To Use State And Authority Facilities During Elections
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that conflicts of interest or conflict of interest were the beginning of a criminal act of corruption. Officials are asked not to abuse their authority, including using state facilities during the 2024 General Election."“KPK reminds all state administrators to stay away from conflicts of interest, whether real, potential or publicly perceived," said KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 7."Especially in these times, various conflicts of interest in the form of abuse of state facilities, abuse of authority as public officials are ethical violations and are upstream of criminal acts of corruption," he continued.Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission also reminded about the importance of neutrality for state civil servants (ASN), including for their employees. Ghufron said they should not side with any of the candidates.They also should not ignore their daily duties. “ KPK also reminded all KPK, ASN and all state apparatus members to maintain neutrality in carrying out their daily duties by avoiding attitudes and behavior that favor one of the election participants,” he said.
