Saddil Ramdani And Sabah FC Will Undergo Trials, Open Opportunities To Challenge League 1 Team

JAKARTA - The club from Malaysia, Sabah FC, is scheduled to undergo a trial match. The match is planned to be held before they appear in the semifinals of the 2023/2024 AFC Cup.

Trials were important for Sabah FC before facing Australian representative Macrostur FC in the AFC Cup on February 13, 2024.

The League 1 team reportedly has the opportunity to become the opponent of the club where Saddil Ramdani plays.

In fact, Sabah FC coach, Ong Kim Swee, revealed plans to challenge the Indonesian national team on the trial agenda.

The selection of teams in Indonesia as potential opponents is not without reason. Sabah FC has difficulty finding opponents because the Malaysian Super League participants are still on holiday and have not started training.

The Malaysian Super League for the 2024/2025 season will only start on May 3, 2024.

"If we (FC customers) want to meet a team in Malaysia, they still haven't practiced because the league hasn't started yet," said Ong Kim Swee, quoted from Makan Bola on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

For this reason, the coach must look for clubs outside Malaysia. One of the candidates is League 1 and Thai League clubs.

The club from Indonesia was chosen as one of the options considering that currently Indonesia's domestic competition has resumed.

"We are forced to look for clubs from abroad, such as Indonesia and Thailand, because their league is ongoing," said Ong Kim Swee.

Even though it has opened up opportunities to fight clubs from Indonesia, the final decision regarding which club is deemed appropriate has not yet been decided by the management of Sabah FC.

On the trial agenda later, Sabah FC also opens opportunities to do away matches.

Meanwhile, the opportunity to fight Indonesian clubs later could also be an opportunity for Saddil Ramdani. The player can take advantage of that moment to hone his skills again.

As is known, the Indonesian player was not included in the Indonesian national team squad when he appeared in the 2023 Asian Cup. Saddil was dropped and sent home by coach Shin Tae-yong for several considerations.
