PBSI Claims Indonesia's Performance At Thailand Masters 2024 Is Quite Good
JAKARTA - Indonesian representatives failed to win a single title at Thailand Masters 2024 which took place from January 30 to February 4, 2024 at Nimibutr Stadium, Bangkok.
A total of 17 Indonesian representatives who were ordered could not bring home the trophy. However, PBSI claims their achievements at the 2024 Thaialnd Masters are quite good.
This was stated by the Head of Division and Development and Achievement of PP PBSI, Rionny Mainaky. He said the reason for his assessment was based on the composition of the squad.
According to him, Indonesia did not appear with the best strength, but three Red-White representatives managed to break through the semifinals, namely Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi, and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.
In addition, Rionny also said that the main goal of these coating players to compete in the Thailand Masters 2024 was to collect as many points as possible ahead of the closing of the 2024 Race to Olympics Paris.

"If you say there are no representatives in the final, yes. However, it didn't fail. We didn't play with the best team in this tournament."
"The main target is how these coatings can find as many points as possible. That's quite successful. We also provide credit for those who have dropped, especially the three most successful doubles to the semifinals."
"Bagas/Fikri, Ana/Tiwi, and Rehan/Lisa trips are not easy. Before losing in the semifinals, they showed extraordinary performances," said Rionny.
"For example, Ren/Lisa managed to beat Goh/Lai who were ranked higher. In addition, they also managed to avenge their defeat at the Indonesia Masters 2024 against Danish representatives, Jesper Toft/Clara Graversen," he said again.
Rionny emphasized that the evaluation from Thailand Masters 2024 will always be there, but he also believes that his team's game graph is getting better.
"It is not easy to play in four consecutive tournaments, especially from focus and mind. It is difficult to keep it prime. From physical and technical means there must be an influence too, but this is easier to deal with," said Rionny.
"More specifically notes may be for Leo/Daniel and Rinov/Pitha whose performances are not as expected. If I judge, from the Malaysia Open to Thailand Masters 2024, the children's graph tends to continue to increase," said Rionny.
Rionny hopes that this increasing graph will continue to be consistently shown by the players while asking for patience for all Indonesian badminton lovers.
"It takes process and time to get back up. So, I hope everyone is patient. Hopefully, with the support of all parties and the hard work of the athletes, the graph will increase and consistency can continue," said Rionny.
Indonesia did not shine very well in four badminton tournaments earlier this year. None of the titles were obtained from the Malaysia Open, India Open, and Thailand Masters 2024.
The only trophy that has been won is the Indonesia Masters 2024. The men's doubles Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin managed to win the men's doubles.
