YouTuber JerryRigEverything Apple Violence Test Vision Pro, Headset Not As Strong As Promised

JAKARTA - A new power test video from YouTuber JerryrigEverything, whose real name is Zack Nelson, has highlighted the surprising drawback of Apple's latest virtual reality headset Vision Pro. In the painful trial, Nelson revealed that his external screen was not made of glass, but from a easily scratched lamination glass.

Vision Pro, at a price of USD 3,500 (IDR 55.2 million), was the first virtual reality headset to be released by Apple and launched in stores across the United States. Although praised for its technology and its immersive experience, many have questioned whether the price was commensurate.

In a video review, Nelson stated that the impressive technology of Vision Pro is not comparable to the quality of its manufacture. Although Apple's website states that the front of the headset is made of "a single piece of three-dimensional lamination glass", the trial reveals that this headset is not as strong as promised.

The video shows Nelson testing the scratches commonly used to test mineral violence. The results show that Vision Pro began to scratched at level 3 and scratched very deeply at level 4, comparable to the violence of a piece of copper metal. This suggests that the outer screen of the headset may be made of plastic rather than glass.

In addition, Nelson also found that Vision Pro's interior lens was so soft that cleaning it with paper or tissue risks permanently damaging it. In fact, when Nelson tries to clean the lens, it easily scratchs it deeply, resulting in permanent damage to the display.

In addition to problems with the material for the manufacture, Nelson also highlighted the high price improvement of Vision Pro. Apple offers repair services at a front screen replacement fee of US$799 (Rp 12.6 million), or US$299 (Rp4.7 million) if you pay US$500 (Rp7.8 million) for AppleCare+. However, this brings the total price to US$799, the same as if you don't have AppleCare+.

Furthermore, Nelson also found that the head bando Vision Pro was highly flammable and was not recommended to be used near the open fire.

Although Vision Pro has received praise for its immersive experience, this trial highlights some of the weaknesses that potential buyers need to consider before they spend that much money on the VR headset.
