Vice President Calls Academic Criticism Part Of Political Dynamics Ahead Of Election

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin stated that criticism emerging from a number of academics from several universities in the country is part of the political dynamics ahead of the 2024 General Election that must be considered by the government. "Any political dynamics, the Government must pay attention to it, meaning that it will not bring unrest to the Indonesian nation. Previously, several academics from a number of universities such as Gadjah Mada University alumni (UGM), the academic community of the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII), and several other campuses submitted petitions in the form of criticism of Jokowi's government. They mentioned ethical issues and statesmanship in their petition. Meanwhile, the Vice President also gave his opinion on the readiness of the Foreign Election Committee (PPLN) at the Indonesian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. According to him, this PPLN is ready to hold elections on February 10, 2024. "For Abu Dhabi, there are more than 5,000, (with) eight TPS, everything is ready," said the Vice President.

He explained that the Indonesian Embassy still opens up opportunities until D day for Indonesian citizens who have not registered to participate in the election.
