KPU Violates Code Of Ethics For Passing Gibran, Anies Response: Cucik Ketik Olo Ketoro

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan responded to the decision of the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) which imposed ethical violations on the General Election Commission (KPU) for accepting Gibran Rakabuming Raka's candidacy as a vice presidential candidate in 2024.

"The principle that we have all been aware of for a long time, is toyo," said Anies in Semarang, Monday, February 5 evening.

"Becicik ketok olo ketoro" is a Javanese philosophy which literally means "good looks, bad things are caught". This expression contains the value of teaching to everyone to always behave and act well.

"Everything that is good will be seen later, but everything that is bad will be seen later and we repeatedly convey the importance of maintaining ethics and should not be taken lightly," explained Anies.

Anies appreciated the DKPP decision which he considered brave to reveal the true things had happened. This decision, for Anies, is also a reminder so that similar problems do not arise on voting day and after the election period.

"Because there is nothing to hide anymore. What I said earlier was 'circ at olo KETORO' point, and this is a warning to all that there should be no violations," he said.

It is known that the DKPP issued a stern warning to the Chairman of the KPU Hasyim Asy'ari and six members for accepting the registration of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a vice presidential candidate for the 2024 election. They are suspected of violating legal certainty.

However, in its decision, DKPP stated that the nomination of Gibran Rakabuming Raka, which the KPU had announced, was in accordance with the constitution and complied with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK).

"Based on the above provisions, the KPU in casu of the defendants has an obligation to comply with the decision of the Constitutional Court as a valid instruction according to the constitution," reads the consideration of the DKPP decision.

"That the actions of the defendants to follow up on the Constitutional Court Decision Number 90/PUU-XXI/2023 regarding the nomination of presidential and vice presidential election participants in 2024 is a step that is in accordance with the constitution," he added.
