The Ministry Of Finance Affirms That The 12 Percent Retirement Salary Increase Is Starting To Be Paid Today

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) emphasized that the payment of an increase in pension money for retirees, recipients of honorary allowances, and pioneering allowances for the national movement/independence of 12 percent will be paid in February 2024.

The Directorate General of Treasury of the Ministry of Finance, Astera Primanto Bhakti, said that the Ministry of Finance had issued letters to PT Taspen (Persero) and PT Asabri (Persero) to carry out payments with new principal pensions and to be implemented starting February 1, 2024.

"Retirements, recipients of honorary allowances, and pioneering allowances for the national movement/independence will gradually accept payments for the lack of pension payments in January and February from February 1, 2024, which will be paid through PT Taspen (Persero) and PT Asabri (Persero)," he said in a written statement, Thursday, February 1.

This is different from the payment of an increase in salaries for Civil Servants (PNS), Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), TNI and Polri, of 8 percent will be priced in March 2024.

The application for payment of salaries with the principal amount has only been made starting February 1, 2024.

"We hope that this adjustment of salary and basic pension will not only have a positive impact on improving the welfare and performance of ASN and pension recipients, but also provide a multiplier effect for the economy," he explained.

Astera explained that the Government has adjusted the basic salaries and pensions of civil servants, PPPK, TNI, Polri, and Pioneer Allowances for the National Movement / Independence starting January 1, 2024. Adjustment of basic salaries and pensions is expected to improve the performance and welfare of ASN / TNI / Polri and pension recipients as well as to maintain the implementation of the transformation of bureaucratic reform to be effective, realizing an efficient, competent, professional, and with integrity central and regional bureaucracy," he said.

Astera said that the adjustment of salary and basic pensions was an adjustment that was carried out after undergoing periodic evaluation by the government.

"For the payment of salaries for civil servants, TNI soldiers, members of the National Police, and PPPK, the work unit can apply for payment of salaries in March 2024 with new basic salary and lack of salary in January and February 2024 which are submitted to the State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) starting on February 1, 2024," he added.
