Asked Where Harun Masiku Is, Mahfud: Why Did He Continue To Be Asked?
JAKARTA - The vice presidential candidate (cawapres) Mahfud MD had received questions regarding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku from one of the participants in the "Tabrak Prof" discussion which was held at one of the coffee shops in Banda Aceh on Wednesday night. Harun Masiku is currently known to be still a fugitive from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Answering the question, Mahfud actually questioned why Harun Masiku's whereabouts were always asked, even though there were many other fugitives who were also still being hunted. "This brother often asked about Harun Masiku, he is now running, looking for the KPK," Mahfud said. "Why is he always asked about Harun Masiku, there are now more than 15 people. I ask him to look for the KPK, look for all, including Harun Masiku," he said. Mahfud also explained about the position of the KPK. According to him, the KPK is not a legislative or judicial institution, but a criminal law enforcement institution that is in the family and executive. Even so, Mahfud emphasized that the KPK is not a subordinate of the government. "The KPK is independent, he is looking for (Harun Masiku)," he said.
