Scorpio Electric Collaborates With BYD To Present Electric Motorcycles For The Asian Market

JAKARTA - BYD's success in battery technology and electric cars prompted the Singapore-based electric motorcycle startup Scorpio to collaborate.

Citing Rideapart, January 31, Scorpio recently signed a deal with BYD to help introduce the brand's electric two-wheeled vehicle in the ASEAN market.

Reportedly, Scorpio will use the BYD network to expand its reach in the market. This is because BYD has proven to be one of the strongest players on the EV scene, having a strong sales network across Southeast Asia.

Meanwhile, based on a report from Nikkei Asia, Scorpio will focus on the main market in Asia to expand. Several countries are in the company's focus, such as Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines to Vietnam.

In addition to utilizing large BYD networks in various markets, according to reports Scorpio also plans to incorporate BYD battery technology into electric two-wheeled vehicles.

Scorpio's move is certainly very good, because BYD technology has been tested and trusted to ensure reliable performance and efficiency. It can also build trust among consumers who want to try their e-mobility.

To simplify the whole process, Scorpio has set up a headquarters in Shenzhen, China, the same place as BYD's headquarters. Reportedly, this step was taken to control the quality of production results.

Currently, Scorpio X1 is the only model that is nearing the production stage. Serving the premium segment, it offers impressive technology and performance with a 10-kilowatt electric motor capable of driving scooters to a top speed of 65 miles per hour.

Later, there will be many other models developed through the partnership of these two well-known companies, in order to meet the needs of the ASEAN market.
