The heavy rain that flushed the slopes of Mount Bromo in Pasuruan Regency, East Java, caused hundreds of houses to be submerged in water and mud in Prodo Village, Winongan District, Sunday, January 28.

Floods that submerged settlements due to heavy rains that flushed the slopes of Mount Bromo left mud on the village road. After the rain subsided, residents began to carry out activities by cleaning up mud in the neighborhood.

The head of Gendol Hamlet, Projo Village, Suyudi said, the flood was sent from the upstream area of Lumbang District which flowed in the village river carrying mud and wood material that overflowed into residential areas.

"Initially the water mixed with mud and wood flowed in the village river, but was blocked on a bridge and finally flooded into residential areas," said Suyudi.

He added, Saturday (27/1/2024) night, water mixed with mud began to enter the settlements. At that time, he and his staff appealed to residents to be alert.
