Indonesian Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Denies Retno Marsudi’s Visit Regarding The Coup, Here Is Their Explanation.

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the news that the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi will visit Myanmar on Thursday, February 25 tomorrow is not true.

This was conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Teuku Faizasyah when confirmed.

"It is not true (news of the visit to Myanmar)", he replied to VOI.

Furthermore, in his statement he explained, the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs opened the option of visiting Naypyidaw (Myanmar) to find solutions at the regional level, in this case, ASEAN. This plan was prepared to take into account the development of the situation in Myanmar.

"By looking at the current developments and after consulting with a number of other ASEAN countries, now is not the right time to make a visit to Myanmar", he explained,

"Indonesia continues to be committed to contributing. Indonesia is also committed to continuing to communicate with all parties in Myanmar. Indonesia will continue to conduct consultations with other ASEAN countries regarding any existing developments", he added.

For information, the report on the planned visit of Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi to Myanmar, shortly after the protest took place in front of the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar, was written by Reuters on Tuesday, February 23, referring to the Myanmar Ministry of Transportation's letter.

"Yesterday, a rebuttal was delivered to Reuters. There is indeed a lot of speculation that is developing", he said.

"Hopefully with this clarification, there will be no more speculation", concluded Teuku Faizasyah.
