Polda Metro Jaya Map Accident Prone Points Due To APK But Can't Remove It Directly
JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya has mapped locations prone to accidents due to campaign props or APKs. One of them is on all flyovers."The shops are all flyovers (prone locations). I see that all the flyovers are also available," said Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Latif Usman to reporters, Friday, January 26.However, the police cannot immediately take action by lowering or removing the APK which is considered to have disturbed the motorists. Because, it is not the authority of the Police regarding this matter.Therefore, every police officer holding a patrol related to the existence of the APK, personnel from the Satpol PP and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) will be included."Well, if the police suddenly take this, it will be counter-productive. So we invite Bawaslu and Satpol PP," he said.However, if under certain conditions and the APK is considered to be very disturbing to motorists, then the police will immediately reduce it. This is done solely for driving safety."But if it's very disturbing, can we secure it for the sake of the umun," said Latif.
On the other hand, Latif said that until now he had not received an official report from the public regarding the existence of the disturbing APK. However, preventive measures have been taken by patrol."Yes, there is not yet, there has been no (received report). That's why it is important for us to carry out preventive activities that we are active in, namely conducting patrols by inviting Bawaslu, inviting Satpol PP to carry out patrols," said Latif.
