Indra Sjafri Expresses Plan For Further Trial, Suwon FC Is Targeted To Be Opponent

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team will undergo two test matches against Thailand and Uzbekistan. All of these matches will be held in Jakarta on January 26 and 30, 2024.

After the two matches, it turned out that Indra Sjafri as the head coach of Garuda Muda had other plans. He revealed that he had targeted other teams as opposed to further trials.

Indra Sjafri said it was possible that the U-20 Indonesian national team could try out the strength of the team which would soon be strengthened by Pratama Arhan, Suwon FC.

"Surely we will do another trial. There is one more trial. It will be finalized whether it is finished or not. There has been no report from the South Korean team, Suwon FC," said Indra Sjafri when met before the U-20 Indonesian national team training session at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

The plan to invite Suwon FC to try out Indra Sjafri was because the South Korean club will soon enter pre-season. K-League 1 2024, which is the competition where Suwon FC will appear, will only begin in early March 2024.

However, regarding the plan to test against Suwon FC, Indra Sjafri has not dared to confirm.

Meanwhile, Indra spoke about the target of two test matches against Thailand U-20 and Uzbekistan U-20. The coach from West Sumatra wants to find the best composition for his squad.

"Looking for players who really deserve to be part of the U-20 Indonesian national team, is part of the formation process," said Indra Sjafri.
