Dozens Of Houses In Tanjung Palas Timur Bulungan Were Submerged By Floods
TANJUNG SELOR - The East Tanjung Palas Sector Police (Polsek), Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan (Kaltara) evacuated and at the same time assisted the people of Kilometer 9 Mangkupadi Village who were affected by the flood.
The Head of the Tanjung Palas Timur Police, Iptu Firman Arifai, revealed that the high rainfall that occurred in the Mangkupadi Village area in recent days resulted in a number of houses being flooded.
"The rain in recent days has caused the Mangkupadi River to overflow into the streets and submerge several yards and houses of residents," said Iptu Firman, Wednesday, January 24.
The police chief explained that the current flood heights are estimated to reach 80 cm to 200 cm and are widespread in the areas of RT 04, RT 09 and RT 14 Mangkupadi Villages.
"The water condition is heavy and carries the remains of pieces of wood in the river," he said.
Temporary data from the Head of the Family (KK) affected by the flood is estimated at 50 families with a total of about 250 people.
"Personnel from the Sector Police helped evacuate residents to the highlands and provide assistance with foodstuffs," he explained.

A number of residents, Firman continued, were evacuated by boat, especially people who could not get out of their homes due to the higher water level.
"We are also coordinating with the Bulungan Regency Government, in this case BPBD Bulungan and Provincial to ask for an evacuation assistance process for the community whose location has not yet been reached," he concluded.
