Kaspersky Finds New Malware In Steel App On MacOS
JAKARTA - Kaspersky Lab has discovered a new type of malware, which enters macOS user computers through pirated software and replaces Bitcoin and Exodus wallets with infected versions.
This malware targets macOS versions 13.6 and higher. Where hackers gain access to computer security passwords when users put them in the activation box and when users try to open a crypto wallet compromised by the malware.
The last charge is a backdoor that can run any script with administrator privileges, and replace Exodus and Bitcoin crypto wallet apps installed on machines with infected versions stealing secret recovery phrases as the wallet opens, Kaspersky said, citing Cointelegraph.
