KPU Will Reprimand Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates Whose Grand Campaign Is Outside The Zonas Schedule
JAKARTA - The KPU will reprimand presidential and vice presidential candidates for campaigns for public meetings or open campaigns beyond the zoning schedule.
"Later we will get a warning, yes, if it is true that the campaign is beyond the specified schedule and campaign. This is not just a zoning, but there is also a schedule," said KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy'ari as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.
Hasyim said the KPU and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) oversee every open campaign zone.
Based on the results of the meeting between the KPU and party representatives and the success team of the candidate pair participating in the 2024 presidential election, Hasyim continued, it has been agreed that the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs comply with the open campaign zoning schedule.
According to him, to facilitate campaign arrangements, zoning is needed, so that coalition political parties supporting candidate pairs can campaign in the same zone.
Likewise, political parties, which are not part of the coalition of political parties that carry the pair of candidates concerned, have been determined with their own zoning.
