Dozens Of Cibeber Cianjur Residents Allegedly Poisoned By Rice Boxes
CIANJUR - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Cianjur Regency, West Java, noted that 60 residents in Salamnunggal Village, Cibeber District, received intensive care from health workers at the local health center for allegedly poisoning rice boxes.
The head of the Cianjur Health Office, Yusman Faisal, said that most of the residents who were poisoned complained of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and dizziness after eating the boxed rice given by a resident at the house celebration.
"We have sent officers to the location to take samples of boxed rice food which is suspected to be the cause of mass poisoning that hit dozens of residents in Central Lembur Village, Salamnunggal Village," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 22.
Of the 60 residents who have been undergoing treatment since Monday morning, one of them was referred to RSDH Cianjur, because he was acutely dehydrated.
Meanwhile, 12 other people are still undergoing observation at the Cibeber Health Center, while dozens have been allowed to go home.
"The dozens of residents, who were dominated by their parents, had undergone treatment from health workers at the Salamnunggal Village sports building because the puskesmas could not accommodate patients," he said.
Doctor of the Cibaregbeg Health Center, Cibeber District, Dr. Sri Daniasari, said dozens of residents had started experiencing symptoms of nausea, dizziness, diarrhea since Sunday night, but only Monday morning they checked themselves at the local midwife and health center.

Along with the increasing number of residents who complained about poisoning until Monday afternoon, health services were diverted to the village sports building.
One resident had to be referred to a private hospital in Cianjur because he was acutely dehydrated.
"As of Monday evening, only 12 people are still undergoing observation at the puskesmas, most of the other residents have been allowed to go home but are still receiving supervision from the midwives and local health workers," he said.
His party could not confirm the cause of the mass poisoning. However, information from residents who underwent treatment after eating the boxed rice given by residents after the safety of the house.
"It is not yet known which food causes poisoning, the food samples have been brought by the Cianjur Health Office for laboratory tests to determine the cause of poisoning," he said.
