Hamas Issues 16 Pages Report On Al-Aqsa Storm Operations

JAKARTA - The Palestinian resistance group Hamas published a 16-page report on Sunday highlighting the motive behind the cross-border attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and its relationship with the Palestinian cause, as well as against Israeli accusations.

The report, named "Our Narrative.. Operation Hurricane Al-Aqsa", aims to refute Israel's claims.

The operation is a step that needs to be taken and a natural reaction to Israel's plans to eliminate the Palestinian struggle, seize land, carry out Jewishism on Palestinian soil, and build complete control over the Al-Aqsa Mosque and holy places.

The operation represents a strategic step to ease the blockade in the Gaza Strip, release it from Israeli occupation, restore citizens' rights, gain independence, determine the future of Palestine and build a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

During the operation, "several errors" could occur in the implementation due to the breakdown of Israel's security and military systems, which caused chaos along the border area with Gaza, the report said.

"As many people have proven, the Hamas Movement treats all civilians detained in Gaza positively and kindly, and has been trying to free them from the start of aggression." the report was reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Monday, January 22.

"That's what we did during the week-long humanitarian ceasefire where the civilians were released in exchange for the release of Palestinian women and children from Israeli prisons," the report continued.

Regarding allegations of targeting Israeli civilians during Operation Hurricane Al-Aqsa, the report highlighted that the group avoided targeting civilians, especially women, children and parents, who are the moral and religious obligations of Hamas members.

And that Israel's accusations are mere lies and slander. The origin of these accusations is the narrative of Israeli officials, and no independent source can prove it.

"The video footage taken on October 7 together with the testimony of its own Israeli citizens published later shows that the Al-Qassam Brigade soldiers did not target civilians and many Israelis who were killed by Israeli soldiers and police due to their confusion." he said.

"The Palestinian army only targets occupation soldiers and those who carry weapons against our people," he said.

The report calls on the United States and European countries to support a judicial process investigating all crimes committed in Palestine if they truly believe in justice, even though they reject Israel's trial at the International Court, he added.

Israel launched a deadly attack on the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7, killing at least 25,105 Palestinians and injuring 62,681 people. Meanwhile, nearly 1,200 Israelis are believed to have died in the Hamas attack.

Israeli attacks have left 85 percent of Gaza's population displaced amid food shortages, clean water and medicines, while 60 percent of infrastructure in the enclave has been damaged or destroyed, according to the United Nations.
