Lampung Police Arrest Couples Specialist In ATM Ganjar, Raise IDR 170 Million

BANDAR LAMPUNG - Sub-Directorate III of Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Lampung arrested a married couple (Pasutri) who specialize in theft with the mode of self-cash machine (ATM) on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Cilegon, Banten.

"Subdit III Jatanras in collaboration with the Cilegon Police Satrekrim, Banten has succeeded in arresting a specialist in theft with ATM mode," said Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Umi Fadillah Astutik, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 19.

He explained that both of them were secured while in General Sudirman, Kotabumi Village, Purwakarta District, Cilegon Banten, when the two were carrying out their actions in the area.

"The perpetrators admitted that they had carried out similar actions at the location, including ATMs at Urip Sumoharjo Hospital, ATMs at Imanuel Hospital, ATM gas station Nunyai Rajabasa, ATM gas station Diponegoro, ATM gas station Taman Siswa TBU, ATM Radar Lampung and ATM gas station Sultan Agung," said Umi.

The two suspects arrested were RK alias Kiki Bin Hasanudin, (31) and DN (32) residents of Katibung, South Lampung, South Lampung who were husband and wife.

In launching the action, the husband and wife pretended to help the victim who was making withdrawals at the ATM machine but the transaction failed because it was hampered.

"The incident was located at an ATM at the Sultan Agung gas station, Bandarlampung on December 24, 2023, at around 20.30 WIB," he said.

The perpetrator used the ATM mode using a stilt, then the perpetrators offered to help the victim's transaction and then the perpetrator exchanged the victim's ATM card without realizing it for another card.

"For this incident, the loss suffered by the victim was Rp. 122,555,000. Throughout 2023, the perpetrators have collected approximately Rp. 170 million from the proceeds of ATM reward crimes," he said.

From the results of the arrest, the evidence that was successfully secured were 2 cellphones, 11 ATM cards, 2 black and brown wallets and 1 electric bicycle.

"For their actions, the suspects were charged with the criminal act of theft with a weight as referred to in Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years in prison," he said.
