Palti Hutabrat Suspect Spreading Hoax Forkopimda Batubara Wins 02 Threatened With 12 Years In Prison
Social media activist, Palti Hutabrat, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police in connection with the alleged case of spreading false news about the Forkopimda of Batubara Regency, North Sumatra, having to win a candidate pair or candidate pair 02, Prabowo-Gibran. The suspect faces a maximum prison sentence of 12 years.
"The threat of punishment is 8 years, 9 years and 12 years," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, to reporters, Friday, January 19.
The maximum prison sentence of 12 years is because Palti Hutabarat is charged with Article 48 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 32 paragraph 1 and or Article 48 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 32 paragraph 2 and or Article 51 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 35 and or Article 45 paragraph 4 in conjunction with Article 27 a of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE.
Then, Article 14 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 and or Article 15 of Law Number 1 of 1946.
Palti was arrested in a house located on Swadaya Street, Tanjung Barat Village, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta, early this morning.

The arrests were mentioned based on two police reports (LP) received by the North Sumatra Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
"Two police reports were reported, in this case the reporter, one Amruniandi Siregar, who was reported at the North Sumatra Police. Then the second report was Muhammad Wildan's brother. This is the one who is the reporter in the Police Criminal Investigation Report", said Trunoyudo.
For information, a video containing voice recordings circulated discussing winning candidate pair number two on the 2024 presidential election. The recording took the Forkopimda of Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra.
