Ganjar: Everyone Shouts Expensive Pupuk, Returns Bulog To Initial Function

Presidential candidate (candidate) number 3 Ganjar Pranowo asked that food politics not be realized.

"Return Bulog (Logistic Affairs Agency) to its initial function, the state regulates the stock including the price, so that, from the upstream side, the productivity must be prepared properly, that means agricultural modernization," he said during a visit to Kuwonharjo Village, Takaran District, Magetan Regency, East Java, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, January 19.

In addition, farmers' data must also be valid so that the treatment given to farmers is in accordance with the data, ranging from the number of farmers, the total recipients of subsidized fertilizers, to the area of land for farming.

For example, related to fertilizers, subsidies for these commodities must continue to be given to farmers on target. If the cost of subsidies is to be lowered, the government needs to provide substitution from fertilizers.

Today I am in Magetan, everyone shouts expensive fertilizers. If we look at the subsidies, fertilizers go down continuously without any substitution, then this will be a problem in terms of productivity. If that is lacking, the number of people increases, then the stock will decrease. That's the formula," he said.

As for the easy way to make food security just hold back, he continued, it is necessary to provide stock of fertilizers from within the country and imports. However, this method has the potential to endanger farmers.

"So (from that), we have to go back. The upstream is prepared, the stock is prepared, and must be changed. Return Bulog to its initial function. The state must guarantee national food," said Ganjar.

Previously, Ganjar offered the Indonesian Integrated Card One Identity Card (KTP Sakti) as a database to solve various problems in the matter of fertilizer in Indonesia if elected President.

"Well, if you have found a fertilizer problem, it has been solved, what has been done? Yes, you can increase the fertilizer yourself, the fertilizer will be obtained from imports, please," he said in a meeting with the community in Plaosan Village, Magetan, East Java, Thursday (18/01)

However, if you want to be independent, according to Ganjar, making a new fertilizer factory is better in order to maintain the sustainability of fertilizer production, including by mixing organic fertilizers or encouraging organic farming.
