Manado Outer Ring Road III Still Needs IDR 287 Billion

MANADO - Head of the North Sulawesi National Road Implementation Center (BPJN), Hendro Satrio MK said that the completion of Manado Outer Ring Road (MORR) III still requires funds of around Rp. 287 billion.

"We have proposed a budget, we calculate it will take around Rp. 287 billion to reach Winangun," said Antara, Thursday, January 18.

If the route has penetrated to Winangun, MORR III will be connected to MORRI, which was built earlier.

"So it's just a matter of looking at it, whether there is a traffic jam or not. If there is a traffic light," he said.

Construction of MORR III Kalasey-Winangun depends on the readiness of the 6.3-kilometer-long land after the construction of MORR III phase one, stages two and three along five kilometers.

If the readiness of 6.3 kilometers of land is met, the work will be carried out with a multi-year scheme.

"The land readiness for the construction of the outer ring road of Manado is carried out by the Housing Office of the Settlement and Land Areas of North Sulawesi Province. We continue to build communication related to the readiness of the 6.3 kilometer land," he said.

The construction of MORR III, he said, was actually to unravel congestion because vehicles going north of Manado City, Bitung City, Minahasa Regency, and North Minahasa had to pass in the city center.

If the Kalawsey-Winangun MORR III is completed, the vehicle will no longer enter the city center, but can take the Manado Outer Ring Road which is directly connected to MORR I and MORRII to access the regencies and surrounding cities.
