Shin Tae-yong Reluctant To Comment On Vietnam's New Coach
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Vietnam in the second match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, January 19, 2024.
The party is like a life-to-life because the Garuda Squad must secure three points to keep its chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the 2023 Asian Cup.
Shin Tae-yong, coach of the Garuda Squad, is focusing on preparing the team to perform optimally and earn three points.
He declined to comment on the strength of the opponent, especially Vietnam, let alone talk about coach Philippe Troussier.
As is known, Vietnam replaced the coach in January 2023 from Park Hang-seo to Philippe Troussier. The French coach had many services for Japan when he first escorted the team to qualify for the knockout phase of the World Cup in the 2002 edition.
"I find it difficult to comment on the Vietnam Manager (Troussier). I respect all coaches. I cannot comment on the manager of each opponent," said Shin Tae-yong when asked at a press conference session after the match between the Indonesian vs Iraq national team.

The South Korean coach further emphasized that he was focused on forging his foster children.
So far, Shin Tae-yong has invited his troops to analyze their opponent's matches in the group stage.
"I know this (group fight) is not easy. The appearance of each team is different. Players have watched opponents," said Shin Tae-yong.
The Indonesian national team wants to maximize the remaining two matches of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup in order to maintain the hope of qualifying. They must at least secure a minimum of four points in two matches against Vietnam and Japan (24/1/2024) in order to fight in the best third-placed path.
