Police Investigate Rental Of Boarding Room For Child Prostitution In Jombang
The Jombang Police, East Java, is investigating the case of renting a boarding house in a housing estate in Jogoloyo Village, Sumobito District, which is suspected of being used for prostitution, involving minors.
Head of the Jombang Police Satreskrim AKP Sukaca revealed that his party had investigated the case by asking for statements from a number of witnesses and securing 14 people related to the case.
"It was secured that there were seven male and female couples, not husband and wife. Five adult couples and two youth couples, and the underage women. Five adult couples were handed over to the Satpol PP of Jombang Regency, while we handled two couples with underage women," said Sukaca as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 17.
He explained that his party examined intensively the two suspects, including an underage woman with the initials ID (19), a resident of Sumobito District, Jombang Regency, and AN (16), a resident of Kesamben District, Jombang Regency.
"We detained the person concerned and immediately named him a suspect," he added
Meanwhile, for the place provider, Sukaca said the boarding house tenant with the initials PP (35) and her lover with the initials IA (26), a Nganjuk resident, still have the status of a witness.
The Jombang Police are still coordinating with the public prosecutor (JPU) for the couple's status.
From the information obtained, Sukaca explained that PP rented the boarding house for one year. PP then provides boarding room rental services for approximately 3-4 months. In a day, on average they can pocket an income of around Rp. 200 thousand.

The police will also ask for information from the original owner of the rented house. The owner of the house also has the right to know the use of his house.
"The owner of the house has an obligation to supervise whether it is used for households or others, so that this does not happen again. We are also coordinating with the head of Satbinmas so that socialization to the community, so that residents who own houses are contracted to monitor what their use is for," said Sukaca.
A house in Buduran Housing, Jogoloyo Village, Sumobito District, Jombang Regency, East Java, was raided by local residents for allegedly being used as a place of prostitution.
From the results of the raids, residents arrested a number of young couples suspected of practicing prostitution.
From residents' statements, the home manager apparently rented out the room with a count of hours. Residents suspect that the room renter committed immoral acts.
When they entered the room, they found the young couple driving together. Residents also found condoms in the room. When asked about their ID card, they could not show proof that they were a legal husband and wife couple.
