This Is Volkswagen Tayron, A Substitute For Tiguan Allspace In The European Market Starting In 2025

JAKARTA - Volkswagen will present the latest seven-seat SUV as a substitute for the Tiguan Allspace, namely Tayron. This car is said to be entering the European market next year.

Reporting from Autocar, Monday, January 16, this car has entered its second generation and has been marketed previously in China.

In the bamboo curtain country, this car is marketed under the name Tiguan L Pro and comes with the option of standard R-Line styling packages and sports.

This car carries the same platform for the third generation of Tiguan and the ninth generation Passat, namely the latest MQB-Evo with increased suspension and 48V mid-hybrid compatibility.

Details of specifications in procurement in the Chinese government are known to reach 4,735 mm long, 1,859 mm wide, and up to 1,682 mm high. As a result, it made it 197mm longer, 17mm wider, and 43mm higher than the new Tiguan.

Tayron also has a wheelbase dimension of 2,791 mm or 111 mm longer than the third generation Tiguan. Thus, this car not only offers practicality but also a comfortable space.

For the heart of the runway, Tayron is equipped with a turbo 4-cylinder 2.0 liter gasoline engine which produces 184 bhp of power in the entry-level variant and 217 bhp for the highest type.

It was stated that this model would be offered with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option on the European market, given the increasing demand for the segment. Meanwhile, in the UK, Tayron will be positioned under VW Touareg facelift.

It is likely that this model will get a 2.0 liter turbo gasoline or diesel engine option, both of which have a 48V mid-hybrid system and dual-clutch seven acceleration transmission as standard for the UK market.

The manufacturer also confirmed that the PHEV version will come with two options, namely 201 bhp and 268 bhp with pure electric range of up to 100 km.
