Shayne Pattynama Has Joined The Indonesian National Team For The First Match Against Iraq In The 2023 Asian Cup
JAKARTA - Shayne Pattynama is confirmed to have joined the Indonesian national team to face Iraq in the 2023 Asian Cup. This was revealed by the Chairman of the PSSI National Team Agency (BTN), Sumardji.
Shayne Pattynama left for Qatar from the Netherlands on Sunday, January 14, 2024, local time. He has been training with the Garuda Squad on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Apart from Shayne, Nadeo Argawinata, who is called Shin Tae-yong, will also join soon. The goalkeeper who replaced Syahrul Trisna, who was injured, is said to have flown from Indonesia on Monday morning WIB after his flight schedule was delayed.
"Shayne Pattynama has joined the team and Nadeo Argawinata will arrive at 14.00 Doha time, Qatar, (around 18.00 WIB)," Sumardji said in a statement quoted Monday, January 15, 2024.

Regarding Shayne's condition, who had just arrived and immediately joined the Indonesian national team, Sumardji admitted that there were no obstacles. This condition also applies to all Indonesian national team players ahead of the first match against Iraq.
"The condition of all players is safe. Everyone is ready to fight all out. Please pray for it," said Sumardji again.
Previously, it was reported that Shayne Pattynama had to leave the Indonesian national team training camp since January 1, 2024, to look after her sick mother.
Meanwhile, the Indonesia vs Iraq national team match in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup will take place at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 21.30 WIB.
For both teams, this is the first match in the group phase. They certainly consider the inaugural match on the way to the 2023 Asian Cup crucial in order to keep their chances of qualifying for the last 16.
