Files Submitted To Police, Bawalu Ensures Mataram DPRD Candidates For Basic Foods Allegedly Violating Elections Processed
The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Mataram City has confirmed the process of a case of alleged election crime (tipilu) for legislative candidates (caleg) of the Mataram City DPRD with the initials NKS.
The legislative candidate is suspected of violating election rules regarding the distribution of his stickerd rice packages as a candidate for members of the Mataram City DPRD for the 2024-2029 period.
"Bawaslu Mataram City considers there to be an alleged election crime," said Head of the Mataram City Bawaslu, Muhammad Yusril in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Monday, January 15, confiscated by Antara.
Yusril said that initially this case was investigated following up on public reports. After the Mataram City Bawaslu assessed that there were allegations of election crimes, this report was forwarded to the Mataram City Gakkumdu Center.
"In the discussion, the Mataram City Gakkumdu Center assessed that the case was suspected of violating the provisions of Article 523 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 280 paragraph (1) letter j of Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections," he said.

He said the article states that every election campaign party that deliberately promises or provides money or other materials in return to the election campaign participants directly or indirectly as referred to in Article 280 paragraph (1) letter j shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of 2 years and a maximum fine of IDR 24 million.
After being discussed, the Mataram City Gakkumdu Center agreed to continue handling this case to the investigation stage. Our file will go to the Mataram Police Station to proceed to the investigation stage
Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama added that his party had followed up on the report from Bawaslu by conducting a corruption investigation.
"Because this report comes from Gakkumdu, we have raised it to a police report. We have 14 days to re-examine the witness with the Gakkumdu team," he said.
