Regarding The Motive, The Police Are Still Conducting Anies Shooting Threats
BALIKPAPAN - Police conducted a marathon examination of a man with the initials AN (22) who threatened Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan by shooting.
Previously, on Saturday, January 14, the threat of shooting the number 1 presidential candidate Anies Baswedan through his Instagram social media account @rifanariansyah surrendered to the East Kalimantan Police.
"After we profiled the account, finally the Cyber Sub-Directorate Team of the East Kalimantan Police found this suspect with the initials AN (22), a resident of Sangaha, East Kutai Regency," said Head of Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol. Yusuf Sutejo Monday, January 15.
Yusuf explained that after identifying the profile, the police immediately contacted the family of the owner of the social media account and the police were still investigating the suspect's motive.
"We explain the situation and voluntarily this suspect is willing to surrender to the East Kalimantan Regional Police for safekeeping," added Yusuf.
In disclosing the case, the East Kalimantan Police also received assistance from the Directorate of Cyber Crime (Dittipidsiber) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters.
"Even though the social media account has been deleted, the police can still identify the owner. The police immediately dispatched a team after coordinating with the suspect's family to be picked up for questioning," explained Yusuf.
Then, the police conducted a case title, Monday, involving a team that had been formed, including expert witnesses including linguists, criminal experts, and information technology experts.
"This is to be able to ensure the next steps," he said.
Yusuf asked the public to be patient and entrust the case to the police.
"This effort is a responsive action against threats made on social media or other public spaces," he said.
