Developing The Business Sector, Jokowi Invites Vietnam To Become The Highest Income Country In 2045
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo attended a business dialogue with Vietnamese entrepreneurs/investors on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Hotel Melia Hanoi, Vietnam. The meeting was also attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh.
In front of Vietnamese entrepreneurs, Jokowi encouraged Indonesia and Vietnam to continue to strengthen the collaboration between the two countries in order to realize the vision of becoming a high-income country in 2045.
"Indonesia and Vietnam have the same vision, namely to become a high income country in 2045 and to make it happen, we need the strength of collaboration, including collaboration in the business sector," he said in his release, Sunday, January 14, 2024.
In addition, Jokowi explained that Indonesia has a huge carbon exchange potential of more than 200 billion US dollars. According to him, the carbon market was launched in 2023.
"I hope this CT Group can be an important part in it," he said.
Furthermore, regarding VinFast's investment in Indonesia in the electric car industry, Jokowi hopes that the production target in 2026 can be implemented soon. In addition, VinFast is also expected to open collaboration with Indonesian entrepreneurs.
"I hope VinFast can also collaborate with entrepreneurs and researchers in Indonesia," he continued.
In addition, in the plan to develop areas ranging from airport infrastructure to tourism in Indonesia, Jokowi hopes that Indonesia's cooperation with Vietnamese company Sovico Group can be carried out soon.
In addition, the Indonesian government also encourages the number of flights by VietJet airlines to be increased towards a number of Indonesia's super priority destinations.
"Like in Labuan Bajo, in Mandalika, in Likupang, in Borobudur, and Lake Toba," he added.
