Inul Daratista Strong Criticism Of Government Policy For Entertainment Taxes
JAKARTA - Inul Daratista is known as a dancer who also has many karaoke businesses. He also criticized the government's policy of setting an increase in entertainment taxes by 40-75 percent.
Through his Instagram account, Inul uploaded a report containing the opinion of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno which said the increase in entertainment taxes would not kill the tourism industry.
"Read this, how come I'm surprised yo, isn't it deadly? How come? 40-75 percent... it's big piye? Charged to a customer?? Wong guests go up 10 thousand just hurry... scream...!! " wrote Inul Daratista in the caption of his upload, Thursday, January 11.
"I'm just one of those people who obey taxes, look at this, you can go in and out of the toilet!!!! That's why we can pay taxes like this, sir?? @sandiuno," he continued.
Inul seems skeptical of the government's policy to advance Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), but on the other hand, it makes it difficult for entrepreneurs like himself who have to support thousands of employees, not to mention thinking about returning loan money from the bank.
"Just opened up 1 and a half years old, but fortunately wis heard the entertainment tax news rising 40-75 percent, didn't you know, huh?? Intention of mateni po piye sir??," he said.
Representing the karaoke entrepreneur's association, Inul Daratista sees that the policy related to the increase in entertainment taxes is unreasonable. He also asked Hotman Paris' opinion, which also has several entertainment venues.
My complaint represents complaints from the Association, which includes all karaoke entrepreneurs. If I close all of my karaoke, 5000 of my employees also certainly can't work to feed their families. Blom again, my other friends, in total, thousands of unemployed have occurred," wrote Inul.

He also said that the income from songwriters and musicians would be reduced if karaoke had to be closed. Royalties for them are something other karaoke entrepreneurs should think about.
"If we want to close it, there is no need for karaoke entertainment anymore, the fate of the creators -Artis byk is also the victim, because there is no income from us. It's getting worse," said Inul Daratista.
"Try an entertainment tax of only 20 percent, it's still natural that we entertainment entrepreneurs can also breathe. Pay royalties, pay mantainance and others, rent a place, do you all don't think about it??? Hello, sir, please read my writing, Mr. Minister @sandiuno @smindrawati @jokowi," he concluded.
