Firli's Extortion Case, SYL Admits That He Has Opened Up To Investigators
JAKARTA - Former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) again ended the investigation at Bareskrim Polri related to the alleged extortion case committed by former KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri, Thursday 11 January. SYL underwent an examination for about 12 hours at the Directorate of Corruption Crime (Dittipidkor) Bareskrim until Thursday night. When he left the Bareskrim Building, SYL admitted that he had again provided the information needed by investigators regarding the continuation of Firli Bahuri's alleged extortion case against him. "What investigators and others have asked me to convey until midnight. I think this is for the umpteenth time. I think that," said SYL. Furthermore, when questioned about whether there was a meeting between himself and Deputy Chairman of the KPK Alexander Marwata regarding this case, he admitted that he did not remember. It is known that Alexander Marwata was also summoned by a joint investigator of Polda Metro Jaya and Bareskrim Polri as a witness in the alleged extortion case. "I don't remember," said Syahrul. This is the third examination for SYL at Bareskrim Polri. Previously, the Nasdem politician was examined as a witness at Bareskrim, Police Headquarters, Jakarta, on October 31, 2023 and November 29, 2023. Not only SYL, two of his former subordinates were Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Muhammad Hatta, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kasdi Subagyono, also examined at Bareskrim related to similar cases at the same time.

Meanwhile, SYL's attorney, Djamaludin Koedoeboen, stated that there were 7 other witnesses who were examined. However, he did not reveal in more detail about other witnesses. "But, what is clear is that there were approximately 6 to 7 people (witnesses) who were confronted," said Djamaludin.
