JAKARTA - Drummer Danny Carey revealed, TOOL may release EP (mini album), not an album.

It is known that the group from Los Angeles, fronted by Maynard James Keenan, Adam Jones, Justin Chancellor and Carey, released their fifth and newest studio album, Fear Inoculum, in 2019. It happened 13 years after its predecessor, 10.000 Days in 2006.

In October, Chancellor leaked that fans would not wait long for the next full album TOOL. When appearing on The Vinyl Guide podcast, he said his band already had a lot of ideas to cook for a new album, but insisted that they "haven't recorded anything".

Now, in a new interview with Revolver, both Chancellor and Carey provide information about what TOOL is currently doing. They said the band had started jamming and gathering ideas, hoping to get into the studio soon after they finished the tour.

This time will be different. Everyone's life is different, and everyone's expectations are different," said the Chancellor. Time is very valuable at the moment, so try to find ways to be more efficient in the process. We've discussed a lot about it and how we can make new albums come about in a slightly different way.

Our filter system is quite strong. If this is successful by the four of us in the band, then we think it will work. This is a very tiring process that we went through to complete [an album], and achieve it where we are all absolutely sure, " Carey replied.

"It paid off in the long term because we never get tired of performing our songs. This gives rise to a vehicle that we can trust," he continued.
