Platform X Removes NFT From Premium Page! What Happened?
JAKARTA - The giant social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has removed support for nonfungible tokens (NFT) from its premium subscription page. In fact, until January 1, X still displays support for NFT profile images.
"As a Premium customer, you can create and customize your profile so you can show off the NFT you have in your hexagonal profile picture on your account," reads the support page.
"After a temporary connection to your crypto wallet that allows you to set up NFT as a profile picture, your digital assets will be displayed in the form of a special hexagon that identifies you as the owner of the NFT," reads the previous announcement.
However, at the time of publication of this news, NFT has been removed from the premium support page X.

On January 20, 2022, Twitter officially launched an NFT profile picture with a verification mechanism. Paid customers who use NFT as their profile picture receive special hexagonal limits on their avatars.
In a similar move on March 15, 2023, Meta removed its support for NFT profile images on Facebook and Instagram, just 10 months after integration was announced. Although there is no specific explanation for the termination, Stephane Kasriel, head of trading and financial technology on Meta, said NFT support was discontinued "to focus on other ways to support creators, people and businesses."
Not long after the start of the crypto bearish market, the NFT trading volume had fallen more than 98% in September 2022. At that time, an NFT only generated around USD 285 (4.4 million) per average sale, compared to around 2.000 (IDR 31.1 million) in early January 2022.
