Menpora Dito Ready To Attend The Siwo Seminar, Maintaining The Olympic Gold Tradition

JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Dito Ariotedjo, expressed his full support for the Sports Journalists Section (SIWO) program of the Central Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) for the period 2023-2028. At an audience with the Central SIWO PWI management at the Menpora Office House, Jakarta, Dito committed to creating a good synergy between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and SIWO.

Deputy Secretary General of the Central PWI, King of Parlindungan Pane, who accompanied the audience, introduced the Central SIWO PWI management chaired by Agus Susanto. King Pane and Dito have worked together at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The chairman of SIWO PWI Pusat, Agus Susanto, explained that SIWO will align work programs with the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding national and international sporting agendas. They are also committed to the success of the National Sports Grand Design Ministry (DBON) program.

In addition, Agus Susanto invited Menpora Dito to be the mainnote speaker at a sports seminar entitled "Maintaining the Golden Olympic Tradition" which will be held on February 17 in Ancol, Jakarta. This seminar is part of a series of events celebrating the peak of National Press Day (HPN) which will take place on February 20, 2024.

"We fully support the new SIWO PWI Central administrators. Later, the agendas will also be coordinated with the agendas of the Ministry of Youth and Sports," explained Menpora Dito.

Menpora Dito responded positively to the invitation, expressing full support for SIWO PWI Pusat. He also promised to attend a sports seminar and emphasized the Ministry of Youth and Sports's commitment to support the implementation of the National Journalists Sports Week (Porwanas) which will be held in South Kalimantan.

"We will also support the implementation of Porwanas. It is interesting that journalists who usually cover the sporting agenda are now directly involved in competing. Later I will schedule them to attend South Kalimantan," added Menpora Dito.

This meeting was also attended by the Central SIWO PWI Daily Board, including Secretary General Erli Bahtiar, Deputy Secretary General Israr Itah, and Treasurer Herwan Pebriansyah. Also present were several Kemenpora officials, including Deputy Sports Empowerment Rudy Sufahriadi, Deputy for Sports Achievement Improvement Surono, as well as Special Staff and Head of the Public Relations and General Bureau of the Ministry of Youth and Sports
