Malaysia Open 2024: Bagas/Fikri Fall In The Hands Of The Second Seed
JAKARTA - The journey of the Indonesian men's doubles pair, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, ran aground in the first round of the Malaysia Open 2024.
The dream of winning the All England 2022 is confirmed to evaporate after losing two straight games 18-21 and 19-21 against the second seed from India, Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
"We were disappointed with the performance earlier, but we will try again in the next tournament. It is more prepared and finalized so that the results are better," said Fikri after the match.
Bagas/Fikri are the fifth representatives of Indonesia who were confirmed to have died in the first half. Before they were confirmed, the four representatives had been eliminated, namely Jonatan Christie, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, Putri Kusuma Wardani, and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
