Failed To Get Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid Switched Again To Erling Haaland

JAKARTA - Binang Paris Saint-Germain Kylian Mbappe is not certain to join Real Madrid. If it is difficult to get Mbappe, Madrid will switch to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland again.

Mbappe is already free. He is free to negotiate contracts with other clubs without PSG involvement. However, Mbappe will only leave PSG at the end of the 2024 season.

Although the move from the French national team captain did not involve PSG, that did not mean that negotiations for his move were easier. Even Mbappe's transfer to Saga. Moreover, Mbappe is not only in demand by Madrid but also Liverpool.

The player also showed interest in joining Liverpool because he was handled by Jurgen Klopp. This makes the competition for Mbappe even tighter.

Is Mbappe likely to move to Premier Lage England? It's not clear yet. Liverpool have not taken definite steps to negotiate with the player representatives. But what is certain is that Mbappe's representatives have denied if the player joins Madrid.

Not a single club has officially entered into a contract with the top score of this PSG. Thus, Liverpool's opportunity or any club to get Mbappe is still open.

"There is no agreement regarding Kylian's future," said Mbappe's team statement.

"There has been no discussion about his future. No one can regulate when the discussions, plans and decisions about Kylian will be discussed," he said again.

An explanation from the Mbappe representative shows that players do not have any club yet. Madrid immediately acted by preparing an alternative if they failed to get Mbappe.

The Spanish La Liga giant gave a signal to switch targets. Haaland is again Madrid's priority.

The 23-year-old forward is still expected to replace Karim Benzema's role as Los Merengues' mainstay goal.

Haaland, whose contract at Man City only expires in 2027, is still on coach Carlo Ancelotti's radar. Moreover, Haaland's price is not expensive. The reason is, Man City set Haaland's release clause of 200 million euros.

However, that figure only applies to Premier League clubs who want to pay Haaland's release clause. On the other hand, clubs from outside England simply pay half of the Norwegian striker's release clause.

Thus Madrid simply spent 100 million euros or approximately 1.7 trillion rupiah to get Haaland.

However, Haaland is still an alternative to Madrid who still prioritizes Mbappe.

Interestingly, Los Merengues are not in a hurry to get one of them. Madrid still has a plan B if Mbappe and Haaland can't come to the Santiago Bernabeu in the 2024/2025 season.
