Malaysia Open 2024 Schedule: Five Indonesian Representatives Appear In The First Round
JAKARTA The first round of the Malaysia Open 2024 will continue on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. There are still five Indonesian representatives who will appear in this Super 1000 BWF level event.
The five representatives who will play are two of the mixed doubles and men's doubles, respectively. The other one is from the women's singles.
Two of the double mixtures that will play are Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
Dejan/Gloria will play against British pair Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith. Meanwhile, Rinov/Pitha will be challenged by Danish representatives, Mathias Thyrri/Amelie Magelund.
Then the men's doubles that came down were Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.
The first pair will meet Japanese representatives Akira Koga/Taichi Saito, while Bagas/Fikri will face a tough test against the second seed from India, Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy.

Finally, there is the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. The 2017 junior world champion will meet Natik Nidaira.
Gregoria became Indonesia's only hope in the women's singles number. Previously, on the first day of one other representative, Putri Kusuma Wardani, had already been pushed over.
Putri is one of three Indonesian representatives who have returned early. Apart from him, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin and Jonatan Christie have also died.
Even so, Indonesia has secured three tickets for the second half. Those who escaped were Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, and Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.
