Anies To Jokowi: How Come The President Comments On Debate?
Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan admitted that he was surprised by the attitude of President Joko Widodo who commented on the third debate of the 2024 presidential election.
Joko Widodo, who regretted the debate that was held on Sunday, January 7, was considered a place to attack each other between presidential candidates.
"I was even a bit surprised, Mr. President, how come I commented on the debate, huh? So, I don't want to comment too much. Let the public judge later," said Anies in Gorontalo, Monday, January 8 evening.
In fact, according to Anies, the arguments he made in the debate against Prabowo Subianto and Ganjar Pranowo only highlighted policy issues.
One of them is about Anies' statement comparing that Prabowo has a land area of 340,000 hectares, while currently there are still many TNI soldiers who do not have official residences.
"Actually, what was discussed last night was all about the policies being carried out. This is part of the public being able to evaluate the policies that have been carried out," said Anies.
"In fact, it's strange that it's seen as personal, it's absolutely nothing personal, everything is about policy," he added.

Previously, Jokowi considered that the third debate specifically for the 2024 presidential candidate was more seen as an event to attack each other and lose the substance of the debate as a debate over the vision and mission and program of each presidential candidate.
This was revealed by the former Governor of DKI Jakarta at the small Serang Village restaurant, Banten, Monday, January 8.
"Indeed, I see that the substance of his vision is not visible. What seems to be attacking each other is actually okay as long as (about) policies from policy, the origin of vision," said Jokowi.
"But if it has attacked individuals, individuals who have nothing to do with the context of last night's debate about international relations, about geopolitical relations, about defense, etc., I don't think it provides education, it educates people who watch it," he continued.
