BPKAD Ambon Reveals Post-conflict City Government Assets Controlled By Third Parties Is Not Easy To Withdraw Again

AMBON - A number of assets of the Ambon City Government (Pemkot) that are quasi-third parties are trying to return again as an effort to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD).

The assets include old market land, peat market, several schools that have been paid according to the calculation of the correct Tax Object Selling Value (NJOP).

"The acting mayor is very serious about managing the assets of the Ambon City Government because there are quite a lot of assets that were previously occupied by third parties, now we have taken over," said Head of the Ambon Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) Jopie Silanno in Ambon, Maluku, Monday, January 8, quoted by Antara.

Jopie said that his party had also brought order to State Property (BMN) in the form of official vehicles controlled by other parties by being recalled and then auctioned off by the Treasury and State Treasury Office (KPKN).

"All of these processes are going well, as an effort to increase Regional Original Income," he said.

He said that managing the Ambon City Government's assets was not an easy matter because many of the post-conflict Ambon City assets could not be accounted for.

"This requires the hard work of the apparatus in tracing the assets of the Ambon City Government. Social conflicts have damaged many assets, lost," he said.

Jopie also admitted that during the last two years the PAD of Ambon City had increased quite significantly, after identifying the potential of PAD through controlling assets and BMD.

"All efforts are made for the sake of development, considering that there are many community needs that must be met, and all need funds so that inevitably PAD must be optimized," he said.
