Jokowi Strives For Government Food Assistance To Continue Until June 2024

SERANG - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that food assistance from the government's rice reserves will be continued until June 2024, if the 2024 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) allows.

"Later, this ladies and gentlemen will receive this assistance from January, February, March. We will try to extend it again in April, May, June, if the APBN allows," Jokowi said during a dialogue with the people who were present at the Bulog warehouse in Serang City, Banten, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 8.

Jokowi said the government is currently still recalculating the fiscal capacity to ensure that the assistance can be continued. He also emphasized that the government will continue to make strategic efforts so that the pro-people program promoted by the government can run as expected.

"We will try so that it can be continued in April, May, June," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Perum Bulog Bayu Krisnamurthi, explained that this food assistance program is a government program with a very wide range of benefits in the community.

It is hoped that this program will be very effective in improving the welfare of the community. According to him, currently Bulog's stock is sufficient to implement food assistance programs for the next few months.

"Currently, Bulog's stock is sufficient for the distribution of food aid, where the number of beneficiaries reaches 22 million beneficiary groups (KPM) until June. If we assume that each family consists of four people, then 88 million Indonesians have benefited from this food aid program," he said.

Bayu also said that this activity presented no less than 1,000 KPM from villages in Drangong Village, Taman Baru Village and Central Umbul Village.

In this activity, President Jokowi checked the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) stock, followed by the distribution of food aid rice to a number of KPMs in Serang city, the assistance received was 10 kilograms of rice along with basic necessities.
