Prabowo On Foreign Debt: We Never Default
Presidential Candidate Number 2 Prabowo Subianto touched on Indonesia's foreign debt. He said, the ratio of foreign debt to gross domestic product is one of the lowest in the world.
Therefore, according to Prabowo, Indonesia's debt ratio to gross domestic product (GDP) reached 40 percent. Meanwhile, he said, many countries are far above Indonesia.
"With good pros and management and with the right economic strategy, especially with hydration, where we can benefit as a nation, we strengthen our bargaining position," he said in a presidential candidate debate quoted from the Indonesian KPU YouTube, Sunday, January 7.
Prabowo also admitted that he was not worried about Indonesia's foreign debt. Moreover, related to the intervention of other countries.

"So I'm not too worried about other countries wanting to intervene in our debt, we are very, very respected that we have never defaulted. I travel around the world they are very respectful of Indonesia," he said.
"We have never failed debt and I am very optimistic but again we must have strong defense strength. So that it cannot be intervened, cannot be bullied, cannot be intimidated, only with our strength will we be respected and we will secure our wealth. Secure our economy to make our development prosperous Indonesia, Indonesia is rich in gratitude," he continued.
