Liverpool Repeats Back Players From The Borrowing Period For Not Maximum
JAKARTA - Liverpool sent the loan player home in January 2024. The two names returning to Anfield are centre-back Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams.
Their loan period was shortened. Phillips and Williams were sent home from Celtic and Aberdeen because Jurgen Klopp was in a back player crisis.
So, not only being sent home, the two players also discussed their future at Anfield with Klopp. You see, Liverpool had to lose Andy Roberston and Kostas Tsimikas due to injury.
At least, Klopp has a short-term projection for the two players.
"We have to see Nat. We have to consider our own situation, things like this. He will definitely be with us until the end of the month. We will have talks and see our situation, that's how it is."
In addition to increasing the depth of the squad, Klopp turned out to be very concerned about the two players, especially Rhys Williams, a player who had just finished the U-21 team.
The German manager has seen how Phillips and Williams developed during the loan. He considered both of them not successful enough.

Speaking of Nat Phillips, it is likely that the failure during the loan was based on the defender's injury.
"Honestly, we really thought about the two of them, because of the things the players did when they were here. Now Nat, I'm not sure she will say it worked 100 percent in Celtic."
"A little bit of injury. If a team like Celtic is in a positive moment and you're on the team then you stay in the team. If this isn't a positive moment and you're on the team then you might be out."
"It doesn't explain anything about quality. Nat will train with us, then we'll see the progress," said Klopp at ESPN.
Klopp wants Nat Phillips to train at Liverpool first for the good of his future. He wants to see the day to the day of his defender's development.
Then, looking at Rhys Williams, Klopp is more concerned. He doesn't want the development of his young talent to be disturbed.
Williams is also not successful. Later, if it is deemed ready to be competitive again, the 22-year-old player will be released again on loan.
"Rhys's situation is a little different. He's our first U-21 player (on loan). I have to talk to him about why his loan period didn't work, it's definitely different."
"Children I know (Rhys), I hope to be able to play in Scotland 100 percent from the first second to the last second."
"I have to talk to him about it. I haven't done it yet, but it's bound to happen. Then, we'll see what the outcome of the conversation is," Klopp said again.
Jurgen Klopp is a coach who really cares about the development of players, especially young talents. He pays attention to the details so that he is not wrong in developing potential players.
Especially Nat Phillips, Klopp doesn't want the back player to be thrown away by the borrower club because it doesn't contribute much. Therefore, it is better for him to repatriate it.
